An illusionist turned author!

Duane and his wife, Mary, spent over forty years performing as professional illusionists on stages worldwide. Their show business life spanned five continents, put them in sixteen different countries, and led to appearances in forty-seven of the fifty states in the USA. Along the way, they were on stage in many high-profile venues — including the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, and the Magic Circle in London, England — and received numerous awards. When they retired in 2022, Duane began writing novels. Now, his unique and international experiences fuel many ideas for his stories. (Duane and Mary currently reside in Branson, Missouri.)

Duane is deeply committed in his faith. His stories feature morally upright people coping with challenges and evildoers. He writes realistically and deals with life’s hard realities, yet writes without profanity or explicit material. His protagonists are good people who want to do what is right.

The books Duane writes about biblical characters are thoroughly researched. Although he imagines how the ancient people may have felt, or what they might have thought, he is committed to staying true to the scriptural record.
